My homemade lasagne...

Hi ladies,
Who doesn't love homemade lasagne?

Well here is a quick post to show you all how I make mine.
I never really measure stuff out on scales or anything I just do what I think and what looks right half the time. I'll try and tell you how much I use as a bit of a guide though.

I always make enough to last me and Liam a couple of days.

You will need:

Red sauce:
500 mince meat
1 big onion
1 big jar of pasata or 2/3 tinned tomatoes
Tomatoes purée
Salt
Black pepper
Oregano
1 beef oxo cube

White sauce:
Table spoon of butter
3 table spoons of plain flour
Milk
150g cheddar or mozzarella  / 100g of cheddar for lasagne
Salt
White pepper

Lasagne sheets (approx 12)

So I start but browning my mince off. I always buy extra lean so it's not fatty but if you did buy a cheaper one you can just drain the fat out once it's browned. I use the 500g packets. I then add 1 big onion and loads of garlic! I always cook this on a low heat so it doesn't burn.
I then add a massive jar of pasata or 2/3 tins of tomatoes and a massive squirt of tomato purée and salt, pepper and oregano. You can also add a beef oxo cube too, I didn't this time because I forgot to buy some from the shop. I let this simmer for a good 10 mins.

Whilst the sauce is cooking I make the white sauce. When I first started making this I found it quite tricky but i have got the hang of it now!
I first add a big knob of butter the a sauce pan on a low heat. When that is melted fully I had about 3 big table spoons of plain flour (a little at a time) to the butter until it turns into a thick paste. When this has happened I add milk. A tiny bit at a time and keep stiring. Once this has turned into a thick consistency a bit like thick double cream I then add the cheese. I used mozzarella because I like it when it goes stringy! I'd probably use about 150g.
I let all this melt together and add a tiny bit of salt and pepper.

So once both of the sauces are cooked I start to make the lasagne. I always put a bit of olive oil in the bottom of the dish so it doesn't stick. I will then add the red sauce first then add a layer of pasta and then white sauce and then cheese. (Then repeat). I always like to finish mine with white sauce and cheddar on the top.

I will then cook in the oven for about 45 mins.
So there you go guys this is my version of a homemade lasagne. I hope you all enjoyed it!
